Allan and I would appreciate your prayer and covering for our upcoming mission trip with Impact Nations. We will be away from November 3rd to the 24th. As part of the JOC (Journey of Compassion) team, we will be visiting poor, mostly rural villages and taking part in mobile medical clinics, feeding the hungry, visiting individual homes to pray for people and set up water filter systems to provide clean water (a small but effective water filter and 2 buckets essentially), and participate in evangelical crusade meetings that we call “Celebrations”. We will have the privilege of helping to rescue sex trade workers and possibly minister in a prison. It is likely that new churches will be planted and justice ministries will develop as a result of the front line ministry taking place.
We expect to see many miraculously healed of their diseases, the blind will see and the deaf will hear, hearts will be healed. Many who experience the love of Jesus through acts of compassion, having physical and practical needs met, and miraculous healings will invite Jesus into their heart and become fellow brothers and sisters in Christ.
This is exciting stuff but we need to be covered in prayer so that we will be empowered by the Holy Spirit as we step out in ministry, as well as for continued good health and protection from any attacks of the enemy. As well, the last 4 days we are going on a safari tour and I admit I am a little nervous about the tree climbing lions (they could jump into our jeep) and about the night we will be sleeping in a tent, apparently surrounded by wild animals. I am sort of being humorous but prayer is always good!
If anyone feels led to interceding for us while we are are away, please send us an email. We would be very grateful. If you have any scripture or encouraging or prophetic words for us we will gladly receive them.
Our God is such a good, loving Father. We love the people of Oxford Church and are so grateful God brought us to you.
