Just a quick note to let you know that we had a good flight and arrived safely in Taiwan. All went smoothly buying a car near the airport (1995 Honda Civic hatchback), which we then drove down to Kaohsiung – about a 5 hour drive. Ruth asked me several times if I was okay driving and not about to fall asleep at the wheel from jet lag, but a bottle of green tea kept me going until we got here! The car looks a little beat up on the outside, but it has a good engine and drives very well. We have already taken advantage of it being a hatchback by putting the back seats down to pick up a table and a couple of chairs yesterday. We also bought a fridge yesterday, so now we can start food shopping.
That’s all for now. We have already met several neighbours and have an invitation to visit the neighbour across the street when we have time. This week will largely be spent unpacking and getting the house in order. Today we are going shopping for a washing machine and will try to get someone to come and measure the windows for curtains. We also need to get a phone and internet at the house.
Thank you for your prayers. We see God preparing the way before us in so many ways.
With love from Taiwan,
David and Ruth
